Shawano,WI,8/1/09—The family of former racer Bud Lynn was on hand to present trophies to the feature winners on Bud Lynn Memorial night at the Shawano Speedway. Doug Blashe, Julie Wedelstadt, and Tim Jorgenson each earned their first feature wins of the year. While AJ Diemel won feature number five and Rod Snellenberger won number seven.
Doug,” The Blaze”, Blashe grabbed the lead at the start of the Wissota Late Model feature and proceeded to put on a clinic on how to get around the historic half mile. Craig Bartz and Troy Springborn had a spirited battle for the second spot in the race. On lap eleven Springborn finally took control of second. Blashe continued to cruise and eventually parked his Ford powered mount in victory lane. Sprinborn held off Gordie Seegert Jr. for second in the race.

Diemel was able to hold on to the end to pick up the win. Curtin fended off Swedberg to finish second.
Pole sitter John Berna looked like the man to beat in the IMCA Modified feature. After leading the first seventeen laps of the race, Berna’s engine went up in flames entering turn three. Behind Berna a great battle for second was taking place between, Julie Wedelstadt, Eddie Menster, and Jared Siefert. Once Berna was eliminated from the race, Wedelstadt inherited the lead. In the closing laps of the race Wedelstadt was able to stay ahead Siefert for the win. Muenster finished second. Lance Arneson advanced from eighteenth to finish second.
